I've got to see Rent finally. I've closely watched its debut in the silver screen last year and completed downloading the soudtracks soon before it hitted iTunes jukebox store. It's somehow frustrating that it took months before it was shown on theaters here. A local production of Rent was shown in the early 90's and was reported that Hollywood filmakers did looked for the video copy and was amazed how Filipinos actors did it onstage.
Well just like its original Broadway version, the whole movie is a musical - a repertoire of bohemians expressing love, fear, anger, pain and adventure.
As colorful as expected, the movie catapulted its purpose speaking so passionately to the romantic and rebel within ourselves.
A beautiful, soulful, melodic flick.
